Dear Friend, Happy New Year! It’s our prayer that this New Year will be full of God’s blessings for you and your loved ones. The Lord blessed us so much through our partnership. We were able to reach many youth with the gospel, care for pregnant teenagers and young mothers, and educate young mothers and children through the Starfish Programme among other things. We are looking forward to serving the Lord with you this New Year. Below is how you have been a blessing to many: Crisis pregnancy Ministry We cared for 17 pregnant teenagers of which three gave birth to healthy babies. The girls at the centre are full of joy and peace. They had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to the coming New Year. We offered counselling to 36 clients.
Follow-up Visits Eight young mothers and their children were followed up in Kampala and Eastern Uganda. They were all found to be in good health and adjusting well to parenting and getting support from the immediate family. Counselling was offered to the young mothers and their parents/guardians.
Operation Hannah On the 20th of December a thanksgiving service was held to thank God for what He did throughout the year for them and the outreach ministry in the different churches. Some of the women said they are so grateful to God for the women’s group; they have found love and belonging. Starfish programme All the children on the programme are in their school holidays. Eleven children got sponsorship to go back to school, we thank all new sponsors for giving them a bright future. We allocated mentors this month to the children on the programme who will be responsible for following them up in school and in their homes in order to effective and efficient in our work. Outreach Ministry We reached 236 youth in four churches encouraging them to grow in their faith and to walk in righteousness. On the 23rd, six volunteers in the Department were appreciated for serving in the ministry and given certificates of recognition. They sighted that they were so blessed by serving on the tea m in 2010.
Staff retirement and volunteer appreciation Ali Bashil retired last month at 86 years of age. He worked as a security Guard at the centre and on the other hand as a father figure to the children. We are so grateful for his service to the ministry for the ten years he has worked with us.
Appreciation of volunteer On the 14th we said fare well Esther Lorenzo as volunteer nurse who served with us for three years. We were so blessed by her service to the pregnant teenagers and the ministry. Through her, we were able to start the Safe Birth Initiative in Mengo Hospital.
With you as our partners we were able to love, care and educate many last year. We are so grateful indeed for your love, prayers and financial support this year. We treasure your partnership and are looking forward to serving the Lord with you this New Year. Together for His Kingdom, Miriam Prayer Requests
